Required
funding for a transmitter was raised, and it was installed complete with
a 10 metre aerial, and RDS
encoder to display 'Withybsh'. Plans were made to complete
wiring and instal logging machines for the FM system
ready for early in 1999.

Following
a donation by the WRVS, a new mixer was purchased to
replace the ageing desk which had been used in the
original studio on the ground floor. Refurbishment
started
on studio 1, to equip it for the millennium.

On
New Years Eve 1998, due to a change in Health &
Safety legislation, we were requested by the hospital
to upgrade the wiring to the latest standards. This
had to be achieved urgently, as the hospital was having
an external audit, and if the studio was not capable
of achieving the latest standards, it would be closed
down.
